#21(a&b): Time-Travel Play

MINDMAP NOVEMBER 29TH AT 8PM Being the GRANDE FINALE of ALL THE TIME TRAVELS ALL THE TIME, a whole dang variety showcase festival of acts loosely related to time travel.THIS, our 21st experiment, promises to be perhaps more personal than any previous experiment, delving into the mind and life of one of our scientists through the use of footage and journal entries from over a decade ago. CAN one travel through time along the neural grooves of histories forgotten? CAN one REMEMBER? We shall map the mind of this intrepid scientist over...

#12: SEFE-12

#12 got taped. Some Emails From Experiment 12: Gentile Men, I got two things on the roster here. One is about scheduley stuff, the other is further data on The Process (by which Happiness is a Choice discovers what Happiness is a Choice is). Scheduley stuff: Even though I have insisted time and again that Happiness is playing late Thursday night/early Friday morning for Out of Bounds, that is not the case at all. The truth is, Happiness is playing early Saturday morning at 1:30am, more commonly known as LATE FRIDAY NIGHT. Can we all like hang...

The Ring Culture of Nanah’d

by Jon Clinkenbeard Proof is a strange concept. Evidence can be lost. The senses can be deceiving and unreliable, even among groups of dissimilar individuals, each witnessing the same event. Ultimately, proof is individualistic. It requires nothing of the individual who experiences it, and provides nothing in return. Aside from hypothetical conjecture, every human has experienced an intimate knowledge of something that is very real for them, that they in turn are being challenged to explain to others, to convince them or convert them, of that...

9 is Haunted With Demons of Happiness Past

ten minutes of nineOr maybe it’s daunted with he-mans of hoppiness past. Mmm, hoppiness. That reminds me of bunnies and beer. Maybe Experiment 9 will be brimming with bunnies and beer. Happiness can’t predict the future with any certainty. But we know that if you’re there, you will change the experiment for the better, even if you don’t utter a word. It’s true. That’s science. Happiness is a Choice in Block Party at The New Movement at 9:30 pm on Rosewood and Poquito.

johnny 5 was a moron but people still respected him

#5Thursday, March 4th, 2010 Happiness is a Choice – Respecting Moronity Happiness did an experiment tonight. We have a lot of fun. We call ourselves scientists, and we call our shows experiments. We say we’re not doing improv shows– we’re scientists conducting experiments, and sometimes we employ improvisation as a tool for our experimentation. It’s awesomely self-indulgent and pretentious, but the more we pretend to take Happiness seriously, the more fun we seem to have. After five experiments in the last three...

It Was the Night of his 38th Birthday . . .

And Jeff had an epiphany that went something like this. Caution: REAL AND RAW DATA AHEAD! Jepiphany It was over a month ago, but I remember I was tired from something when I arrived at Mike’s. You can hear the fatigue in my voice. On the other hand, Paul and Mike were both there to greet me with some birthday wishes and libations, so I was very happy and heart-warmed to be there. Mike happened to already have his audio recorder rolling when I asked them if they wanted to hear the story of what I was calling an “epiphany”...
